I grew up in rural Pennsylvania with a great love of all things natural, experiencing the joy and beauty of the world around me and desperate to find a way to put those feelings into words. I became a writer because I was bursting with ideas about strange worlds and high adventure, filling notebooks with sketches and descriptions of alien planets and fantastical creatures. As soon as I was old enough to write stories I was developing a web site and sharing them on the fledgling internet, eager to connect with others through art.

At age 16 I rediscovered video games and the stories they could tell, and became obsessed with how this medium differed from other narrative forms. From then on I was fascinated with games as a storytelling medium; even to this day the industry is constantly surprising us with new and unique narrative formats, bursting at the seams with innovation. Around every corner is a new delight, an innovative construction, a never-before-seen mechanic.

I believe that the aim of art should be to delight, to fascinate, to empathize, and above all to lift each other up. Good stories can truly remind us what it means to be human, celebrating our diverse backgrounds and all the joy, sorrow, and unique perspectives that bring color to the world.
